Spring Family Photos

This was our last pose so the boys were quite tired and didn't think the photographer was that funny anymore. We made it through 40 minutes of photo taking and that in itself is quite remarkable. It was fun to get some photos of all of us together, we don't have very many. My only regret was that I didn't get any of just the brothers together. I guess I will have to remember that for next time. It was just a little too chaotic to remember everything:)

Landon 16-months old

Zidane 7-months old

It is a rare occasion that Craig and I get to sit next to each other without 1 or 2 boys on our laps so we felt it was a good idea to capture a picture of just the TWO of us.

Peek-a-boo is his favorite game right now:) And he learned how to climb up on chairs and couches so he thinks it is a pretty cool way to play the game.

Z-man is always full of smiles...as long as he has me in sight he is the happiest little guy ever. But if he sees me leave the room or realizes that I am not in the room he panics and it is not too pleasant for the person holding him.

I sure do LoVe my boys, all ThReE of them!!

Watching Our Babies GrOw...

Our little munchkins are growing so fast. We are still loving our chaos and have experienced some new and challenging things over the last couple of months. One thing we have learned is that TwO teething babies is harder than OnE teething baby and currently both boys have ear infections so sleep is very limited around our house for EvErYoNe. It is so sad to see these little guys in so much pain, thank goodness for Amoxicillin, Ibuprofen and Tylenol (they are our BEST friends right now :-)

Here are some fun pictures of how our little guys are growing and developing....
Landon is the KING of facial expressions these days. He has learned how to make everyone laugh, smile and even cry (mainly his brother Zidane).

Here is Landon playing with Grandpa in his NEW Dump Truck his birth parents gave him for Christmas. He loads it up with all kinds of things from around the house and transfers them to another room. He can destroy the house much FASTER than before :-)

...And Z-man is getting chubbier by the minute. He is getting the cutest little personality and just in case you are wondering...YES his cheeks are the best ever for kissing.

We gave Landon a Bouncing Zebra for Christmas and he LOVES it! He gets on and off it by himself and bounces on it like he is riding a bull; laughing the entire time.

Here he is busy at work...

Zidane is very close to sitting up on his own. He rolls all over the place and is working very hard to crawl. He has just discovered his feet and can't wait to get them in his mouth.

Landon is learning to be a NICE big brother....still learning. He can't wait to get over to Zidane and put his hand on his face, in his eyes or even his mouth. I am sure this is why they manage to pass viruses back and forth.

This is Z's new toy. He loves to play with all the jungle toys but when he wants to start rolling around he gets stuck and a little frustrated.

Grandma and Grandpa Ipsen gave Landon a FUN walker for Christmas. He has loved pushing it around and now walks all over the place....no more crawling for Lanny. He has even started running.

We taught him how to go up and down the stairs because he is so infatuated with them. And no matter how careful we are to watch him he manages to get down them in seconds before we even notice he is gone.

Chubby Z-man sleeping in with Dad.

Love a sleeping baby

Landon is almost 15 months old now and Z-man is almost 6 months old. We can't believe how fast the time has gone but have enjoyed every minute even the minutes that come around 3 am. Our updates have been a little more spread out but if you could spend 10 minutes at our house you would understand how difficult it might be to brush our teeth and shower everyday let alone update a blog. These babies are busy busy busy.

First Visit to InstaCare....

Landon had his first visit to InstaCare for a couple of stitches in his eyebrow. He is really into the chasing game. If you even look at him or walk toward him he thinks you are playing. Well he also thinks our dog Bridger, who is blind, plays this game with him. Last week Bridger was walking slowly toward him and Landon got so excited and immediately turned to crawl away when he misplaced his hand and his head hit the molding of the wall. Poor little man had to be held down so the doctor could put the stitches in. He had them removed on Monday and it seems to be healing well until he hits his head again. This was his first accident but I am sure it won't be his last.

Zidane is growing so fast, it makes me sad. I don't want my boys to grow up too fast, they are so much fun....I wish they could stay babies forever.

We spent Thanksgiving with Craig's family so we did a few special pictures with the Great Grandparents. This is 4 generations starting with Great Grandma Washburn, Grandma Jenson, Craig, Landon, Zidane, Doug and his new little son Nash. As you can see the babies were thrilled about it.....

We also made a visit to see Great Grandpa Jenson and had this 4 generation picture done starting with Great Grandpa Jenson, Grandpa Jenson, Craig, Landon and Zidane. This will be cool for these little guys to have when they are older.

I need your HeLp....

advice, encouragement and support from all you experienced MoThErS out there. As you all know I have two babies, Landon is 1 year and Zidane is 3 months. When Zidane was born I put Landon on a strict sleeping schedule which he adapted to very well as you know how babies LOVE being on a schedule. We would bathe him at 7pm and put him to bed by 7:30pm; he would sleep until about 7:30am. Which is great, 12 hours of sleep at night. Then his napping schedule was 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. He would go right down for his naps right on schedule and has done so well sleeping 2-3 hours for each nap. In reading my book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" I have learned that Landon is a child that has always required a lot of sleep and when he doesn't get his sleep he is a little fussy pants. Also, Landon's long naps is how I have been able to manage the two babies while I am working with Zidane to get him on a schedule. Here is my dilemma or question...yesterday Landon just StOpPeD napping. He would not go down for his morning nap which is not totally weird but then he wouldn't go down for his afternoon nap either. I left him in his crip for over an hour both times and usually he is asleep within 10-15 minutes. Each time I went in he was just sitting there crying his eyes out and I couldn't leave him so I would get him up and play with him and he acted normal other than he has been a bit clingy lately. I thought maybe now that he is 1 he might be growing out of one of his naps. I also thought that he might be jealous of Zidane knowing that I am holding, feeding and rocking him throughout the day. To offer you a little more information and background, he has spent the last few days pulling at my pant legs whining for me to hold him.

Last night he slept his normal 12 hours and then his nap time came and once again he rebelled. I don't know if this is just a phase, if he is jealous of Zidane, teething, growing out of naps (so soon), or if I am missing something. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for me I would love to hear them. I love playing with both my boys and I usually miss them while they are sleeping or napping but the truth is I am only functioning because I get a couple small breaks during the day and by small break I mean I only have one baby to care for while the other is napping. I have been lucky at times to have them both nap at the same time but let's be honest it is far and few between and unpredictable. Any ideas?

BiRtDaYs

The first week of November is a busy time for us, but so fun because we have one celebration after another. We start the month with our anniversary and this year we celebrated EIGHT years of marriage. We actually went out on a date and left the boys with Grandma and Grandpa. It was hard to leave the babies but it was great to have some alone time with Craig and celebrate together. Then we celebrated Craig's BIG 3-0 birthday. This pic is Craig with the boys on the morning of his birthday!!

This is the card Landon, Zidane and I made for Craig. Zidane is catching up to Landon really quick! Before we know it they will probably be the same size and look the same age.

And then we get to celebrate Landon's birthday. This year was his FIRST birthday. What a fun and exciting day for us. We can't believe it has already been a year, it is amazing how fast it went. We all went in to meet him that morning in bed as he was waking up so hopefully he would know something was special about this day. He has been sick all week and unfortunately was sick for his birthday so we didn't venture out but still had family over for a party.

Even brother Z wished him a good morning! As always Landon is excited to see his brother and wants to play with him so badly.

Not only was it Landon's first birthday but it was also a playoff game for our favorite team, REAL Salt Lake so the family supported them by wearing our REAL gear. This was Landon's first t-shirt and has now been passed down to Zidane.

Happy Birthday Landon!!

Grandma Jo and I made him a soccer ball birthday cake. It was a lot of fun!

Actually we made two cakes just in case....

Uncle Corey wishing Landon a Happy Birthday!

Dad and Zidane

Aunt KaDee and Cousin Dexter

Z-man

More of the REAL crew supporting our team. This was the last REAL game that Doug and Jen went to childless....they are having their baby this Thursday! Yeah we are so excited to meet their little one and learn if there will be 4 grandsons or 3 and 1 very spoiled grand daughter. Can't wait....the suspense is killing me.

Grandma Dorothy is using Zidane to escape a picture.

Lannykins with his cousins, Zoe and Avery. He loves to play with these two.

His first piece of CHEESE pizza.

He was excited about his new fire truck from Grandma and Grandpa Ipsen.

Yes, Lanny has his own pair of Carrhart double knee work overalls. Now he can help his Dad work in the yard and build some stuff.

Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes---every child needs this book and I figured I should probably learn them myself so I can keep up with the boys.

New spin toy from his Birthmom, Michelle. It is so fascinating watching it spin around and around.

Poor little guy doesn't feel well but he was such a good sport.

Fun shapes and numbers cookie jar toy from Grandma and Grandpa Jenson.

....and a REAL beanie.

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to Landon, Lannykins, Lanny, Landman, Lan

Happy Birthday to you!

Grandpa and Z-man

Yummy cake.....black frosting turns EVERYTHING black. At least he had a good time.

He knew what to do to get a bath.....his favorite thing in the world.

Cruising around on his new fire truck wearing his new beanie. Uncle Corey is helping him learn how to scoot around on it. What a great birthday party. Love you Lannykins.
