Today is 19 years since my mother died from brain cancer. I like to title today, "Mom's Day" because it is a day I reflect on my life in the eyes of my Mother. I live each day knowing she is close. I realize that she is aware of my thoughts, my hopes, my dreams, and I feel her love. She is my hero and very special to me. I honor her and remember her as a beautiful, strong, intelligent, loving and caring woman. I have never questioned whether or not she loved me. I hope my family members will always know that I love them dearly. There are some days that I still feel it is unfair that I don't get to spend my days here on earth with her but I feel lucky to have her with me always in spirit.
My friend, Beth, lost her mother this year and was given a wall hanging for Christmas that reads: "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, still LOVED, still MISSED and very DEAR."
I absolutely loved it and wanted to share it with all of you. I love my Mother and hope to be a Mother some day so I can nurture and care for a child the way she did for me. Even though our time on earth together was short, I feel I know her by the women that my sisters have become and the woman I aspire to be.

She loved the beach and laying out in the sun.

This is the only picture I have of us together, and one I cherish.

Here is me and my twin sister, Annie. We were large twins weighing at 5.5 lbs and 7.5 lbs. I don't know how she did it.

My Mother and Father went to Hawaii together about a year before she died and here she is in her hotel room. She always matched from her jewelry to her shoes.

I have always thought she was a beautiful woman inside and out. A friend of mine wrote those words to me in a card the other day and it reminded me of my mother.

I love you MOM.
