Biking from Sandy to St. George

So our friends Tony and Karen invited us to join them this year in riding our bicycles to St. George. It was a 3 day ride of about 100 miles per day. I have always wanted to do this with them and immediately agreed. We started training with them and I soon learned that I had a lot of work ahead of me....keep in mind this was our first year ever riding the skinny tires. It was crazy how different it is from running but I am always up for something new especially if it involves burning calories outdoors. Anyway, our ride was a couple of weeks ago. Craig is preparing for the bar exam and was unable to ride the first 2 days but told me I still had to do the entire ride. I was really nervous but excited too. This by far was the most physically challenging thing I have ever done. The first day we hit a big rain storm through Nephi so I took a break for about 15-20 miles and warmed up in one of our support cars but was able to get back out and finish the rest of the ride. Amazingly enough I completed both the second and third day and when I arrived in St. George I felt like I had accomplished the world. It was mentally and physically challenging but I am really glad I did it. You burn so many calories that you really have to try and eat about 200 calories per hour. I wasn't able to do that the entire time but tried my best. I can't wait to do it again next year and next year Craig gets to do all 3 days with us.

These are all the girls who did the ride. Girl Power!!
