There she is the canyon full of mysteries........
Who is this mystery guy in "Mystery Canyon" and what
is he thinking about? The 120 ft repel off a cliff or the
cold water at the bottom and how he is going to get
around it?
This is at the start of Mystery Canyon in Zion Nat'l Park.
In order to get down into the canyon we had to drop
down about 1500 ft in about 1 mile. Let's just say it was
a little steep and I was wearing my Keen sandles not the
smartest thing I have ever done. It felt like I was hiking
straight down a steep cliff barefoot. But as Tim/Dad
would say, "it will make you tough".
This waterfall was our last repel, 130 ft. and
it puts you right in the Narrows which is
very refreshing after 8 hours of canyoneering
when it is 100+ degrees. We are a little wet
but excited to once again finish Mystery
Canyon together.
Me, Corey, Les and Spence are taking a
breather before our next repel.
Tim is resting and feeling great. When I
asked him if he was comfortable he said,
"All except my head".
Here is Corey with his matching shoes and
harness. You have got to love yellow and
gray!!
I am repelling down the 2nd to last repel.
It is 120 ft and if you look closely you can
see that the repel ends in water. It is fresh
spring water and pretty cold. It was about
8-9 feet deep and so it made it a little tricky
to unhook from the rope while trying to stay
above water and maintain oxygen flow to
your muscles as they quickly became numb!
Awesome repel, a little nerve wrecking but
incredible.
First time in Mystery Canyon for Corey.
I think he liked it!
Les loves the repels and makes the adventure
a lot of fun. Always making everyone laugh!!
Craig and Corey please don't fall.
Wow, it is hot and we are tired. But isn't it gorgeous?

Amber, my mom sent me the link to your blog and your pics look like so much fun! Although quite scary...fun. I wish my summer were that fun, he he. Although I try to write positively on our blog, so as not to hurt my husband's feelings (he he), Korea has been quite an adjustment! I think my mom said that she let you know about our blog but just incase she didn't it's daveandmegclark.blogspot.com
love you- hope all is well!
